The Yoko Set consists of mittens and a hat.

The mittens are worked from the wrist to the fingertips. The mittens are worked in stockinette stitch from the wrong side with raised knit stitches that are worked in four locations on the mittens. The mittens are worked from the side that will become the wrong side at the end. The thumb is worked at the end. The mittens are worked on a long circular needle using the Magic Loop technique or on double-pointed needles.

The hat is worked from the bottom up, first in rib and then in stockinette stitch worked from the wrong side. Just like the mittens, the hat is worked with raised knit stitches. The folded brim is knitted down. Decreases are worked to shape the top of the hat.

Size guide

Mittens: Measure around your hand at the knuckles using a tape measure. The sizes junior (S) M (L) are equivalent to a circumference around your hand of 15-17 (17-18) 18-20 (20-22) cm [6-6¾ (6¾-7) 7-7¾ (7¾-8¾) inches]. Junior is approx. equivalent to 7-10 years.

Hat: The hat fits a head circumference of 52-54 (54-56) 56-58 (58-60) cm [20½-21¼ (21¼-22) 22-22¾ (22¾-23½) inches].

Sizes: junior (S) M (L)

Length of mitten: 28 (32) 34 (35) cm [11 (12½) 13½ (13¾) inches]

Gauge: 18 sts x 27 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in stockinette stitch on a 4 mm [US6] needle

Needles: Mittens: 3.5 mm [US4] and 4 mm [US6] / 80 cm [32 inches] circular needles if using the Magic Loop technique, or 3.5 mm [US4] and 4 mm [US6] double-pointed needles

Hat: 3.5 mm [US4] and 4 mm [US6] / 40 cm [16 inches] circular needles and 4 mm [US6] double-pointed needles
